Indication:
Fever, common cold and influenza, headache, toothache, earache, myalgia,
dysmenorrhoea, and sprains; colic pain, back pain, post-operative pain,
postpartum-pain, post-vaccination pain and fever of children; rheumatism &
osteoarthritis, pain & stiffness of joints.
Dosage and administration:
Adults : 500 mg to 1000 mg (1 to 2 TAMOL tablets) every 4 to 6 hours up to maximum 4000 mg (8 TAMOL tablets) daily. For trusty time long-term treatment, it is not wise to exceed the dose beyond 2.6 gm/day
Children :
Under 3 months : 10 mg/kg (reduce to 5 mg/kg if jaundiced) every 4 to 6 hours daily
3 months - 1 year : 2.5 ml - 5 ml TAMOL suspension every 4 to 6 hours daily
1-5 years : 5 ml - 10 ml TAMOL suspension every 4 to 6 hours daily
6-12 years : 10 ml - 20 ml TAMOL suspension or 1/2 to 1 TAMOL tablets every 4 to 6 hours daily Maximum 4 doses in 24 hours
Post-immunisation pyrexia for children 2 to 3 months of age : 60 mg (2.5 ml TAMOL suspension) initially, a second dose may be given after 4 to 6 hours.
